I told a story to my son this afternoon after lunch to help him fall asleep after an exhausting and stimulating morning. His reaction to melted my heart.
“Once upon a time there was a very curious little boy. He was only 2 years old but he could already reach up high to the top of the stair’s rail.
Ben: “Yes, mummy, me too! Me too!” – said my son excitedly.
Today morning this little boy had so many funny adventures that tired him out very much. He almost fell asleep before lunch!
His mummy cooked tasty pasta for lunch and they even had some fruits as desserts.
Ben: “I had nuts today!”
After lunch the little boy read a few books and told a story to his mama about the little rabbit who had cereal for breakfast in the morning. Then he was already really exhausted. So his mummy told him to go and have a nap. They cuddled on the bed and the little boy put his head on his mummy’s chest. Every time the little boy got a cuddle from his mama, he felt safe and warm.
Ben: “Yes, yes.”
The little boy loved his mummy’s smell.
Ben: “Yes, me too.”
The little boy loved his mummy’s heartbeat, just to listen to it and to feel peaceful and to calm down.
Ben: “Yes.” – he murmured half asleep.
They loved each other more than anything. He knew that his mummy would protect him from anything and he can sleep and his dreams will be beautiful. He will dream about the cuddle with his mother, about the feeling that he is in a safe and warm place and he is very much loved.”
Ben was nodding only while falling asleep peacefully.
